i have always had a fascination for the origins of things which can’t be traced or rationally explained, where an irrational explanation is required to justify its existence. thinking about first depictions of jesus or any other divine deity inspired me to make an attempt to create the conditions wherein an image can miraculously appear. density shows an abstract, non-referential and mysterious creation of a supreme algorithmic deity, a mistake in a code takes the role of a creator. as the image of the christ is indestructible, i desired my image as well to have such nature. as a solution to this challenge i used a polyester fiber weaved into the tapestry. the decomposition time of polyester is hundreds of years allowing the image to last independently from its maintenance.
